Educational Services

Our People and Wildlife Team has been working with schools across Dorset for many years and we are pleased to be able to offer the following services:

  • An Education Outreach Programme that delivers Environmental Activities in your own school grounds.
  • A Schools Wildlife Partnership so that your school can become a member of Dorset Wildlife Trust and obtain discounts at our Education Centres and Outreach Programme as well as various resources and other benefits.
  • We have 5 Education Centres which provide an opportunity for close encounters with plants and animals in the natural habitats.  These are at:

  • All our centres are nationally or internationally important wildlife sites. See links above for more information.

When?

  • All our centres are available throughout the year (apart from access to Brownsea Island which is dependant on the seasonal ferry.)
  • We are very popular, particularly in the summer term, so book early

Outreach

  • Alternatively, we can come to your school to lead Life Science sessions, assemblies, to give school grounds advice, support Environment or Science Week activities and workshops or provide a range of activities to enhance an Open School event
