Conservation team

Facilitates advice to landowners, planners and government organisations to protect and enhance the biodiversity of Dorset. Aiming to:

• Play an active part in securing conservation management outside our reserves
• Gain greater protection of the terrestrial, freshwater and marine environment
• Influence decision makers, landowners, communities and businesses to the benefit of wildlife

Natures Reserves team

Manages 1,300 hectares of prime Dorset habitat for the benefit of wildlife.
Aiming to:

• Manage our nature reserves more efficiently and safely to maximise their conservation value
• Create and protect large and sustainable areas for conservation
• Influence the way others manage important wildlife habitats.
• Encourage more people to appreciate wildlife by experiencing our nature reserves

Is working to engage and inform people of all walks of life about nature conservation.
Aiming to:

• Provide opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn more about local wildlife and habitats in a local, national and international context
• Support initiatives by local communities to improve the value of their local environment
• Provide support for the delivery of Dorset Wildlife Trust's conservation objectives at the community level

Is working to maximise our supporter base, raise awareness of our work and raise funds for our conservation, land managements and educational work
Aiming to:

• Generate and sustain income to fund the activities of Dorset Wildlife Trust
• Strengthen relationships with our members, supporters and partners.
• Strengthen Dorset Wildlife Trust's image as a bold, innovative and professional organisation.
• Nurture, inform and listen to members and volunteers
